My grandma died 9 months ago. Everything in her estate has been sold and taken care of. The only thing we are waiting on is for Guardian life insurance to send us the check. Our lawyer says he calls Guardian once a week. And our lawyer said once he receives the check from Guardian he will send out the money to the 6 of us who are in the will. It seems to me that 9 months is an awfully long time to wait for the money.
Another side of the story is that my uncle is the estate trustee, and he is a very weathly man. So he could care less about how long it takes to receive the money, because he doesn’t need it. For myself though I could really use the money, and i would like to call Guardian life insurance myself to find out where the money is, but I don’t want to mess things up with me calling. if I called would it be ok or would that just slow things down even more?

My sister’s husband came to this country a few years ago, and as any responsible parent he wants to secure the future of his family so he decided to get life insurance. The problem is that my brother-in-law only has an employment authorization card ( this means he is legal in the country). His social security number is real so I wonder why the agent did not want to sell him life insurance. Can anybody answer this please. Only people who have knowledge on this subject.

Can States or State agencies ( such as department of transportation, agriculture, etc) take out Whole Life Insurance policies on their employees? (Meaning if their employees pass away, the state or state agency would be the beneficiary.)
I know companies such as WalMart are able to do this on their employees. But can states/ state agencies?
I also need to know which states can and which states can not. I have been looking everywhere with little luck. Who can I call to get this information?
Thanks!

My grandmother purchased a life insurance policy, with my brother as the sole beneficiary. Now, our cousin claims that Grandma wanted some of those funds to be given to him. I say if she’d intended that, she’d have filled out the beneficiary section differently.
Might our cousin have a legally valid claim?
