I need to get life Insurance for my husband (42 yrs. old) who has a mental disability called Paranoid Schizophrania. We had life insurance for him before, but when he got sick, and had to leave his job, we ran into hard times. I was the only source of income at the time, and it was only enough for the basic necessities in life. I couldn’t keep the payments on his insurance. We waited months to hear something from Social Security Disability, and by that time I had lost his insurance.
When we started getting a little more income from his disability, and applied at different Insurance Companies for Insurance for him , they turn him down. They considered people with mental disabilities a risk. The Insurance Companies didn’t say this in so many words, but when you answered their health questions truthfully, and get denied. It’s not hard to figure out. We ended up getting him burial insurance, but we both are bothered that he can’t leave much to me and our daughter. I do have a policy.

Me, myself and I asked:

What is the difference between 10 and 20yr terms etc. What is the benefit of the whole life insurance? And why do those one’s cost much, much more?

What should the average 35yr old female enroll in. I’m looking at probably 500,000. That’s way more then ten times the amount I earn in a year. Do they grow with interest?

So many question’s I know. But if anyone has the time to give me the basics I will appreciate it. Thank you.

My sister and her husband just found out they’re pregnant, and now her husband is researching life insurance. Which is best for a new family? They make average income for a couple.
I meant more along the lines of which is best, Universal Life, Term Life, Whole Life, etc.? They do have an insurance company already. Sorry for being unclear.

My father died about two years ago. His family didn’t know about his first born…ME! But, he did keep in touch with one of my aunts and told her that he’d be dieing soon and that he’d purchased a life insurance for me. Without contacting his living wife, how can I track down the insurance policy?
Lawyers can’t track them…already tried.

My father just retired, but he is stubborn and against getting a life insurance policy. I would like one to cover expenses he may leave behind and to take care of his wife, but he just doesn’t see the need for some reason. His wife (my mother) is also the same way and they are too old fashioned and set in their ways to change their way of thinking. My parents are not rich and does not have a lot of money saved up. As a result, I may have to pay it myself even though I am supporting my own family on a single income. Obviously, the older one gets, the more expensive a life insurance policy becomes. Does anyone know of any good, reliable low cost life insurance companies out there? He doesn’t have any major problems, but it would be best if there are some that doesn’t require any health checks.
