term life insurance
jmiller asked:

Anyone heard of this or has it? I’m thinking of getting this type on insurance but am unsure. Are all life insurance cut and dry or what? I know we can’t afford whole life so that’s out of the question. Thinking of AIG ROP term for 30 years. Currently am 28, 2 kids, healthy.

I just switched from Cash Value insurance to Term. Wow what a savings I have on premiums. Does anyone else feel like cash value insurance is an extremely bad idea perpetuated by an insurance industry?

Kim Y asked:

I have 2 Term Life Insurance policies on myself.
Both are for the same dollar amount.
“A” is 20 yr, of a stable Insurance company under State Farm Insurance ($68 per month)
“B” is 30 yr, one of the AIG Insurances that Uncle Sam bailed out (American General @ $54 per month).

I’ve been paying on both for 18 +/- months. I only need one.

I need to free up the cash, but most importantly, which would be the better one to stay with. I ALMOST cancelled the 20 yr policy, then the AIG debaucle hit the fan. Now, I hesitate.

Is there a web page that can help compare these type “apples to oranges” ?

Please advise and thanks!

Well….my rates seem high because the policies are for a high amount. I do this to make it easier for my hubby to outright own any home we may have, pay off debts. So, I guess I need to let you know that my policies are $250k each.
It seems high, but I believe that the return is worth it. Even if I’m not here to “enjoy it”.

My husbavd and I have been married for 5 years.I have started looking into life insurance now that we are on our feet. I am SO confused about term life insurance and “non” term life insurance. My husband doesn’t want to deal with it because he “doesn’t believe” in it. I am under the impression that life insurance helps to cover funeral costs and some of the other expenses that the spouse had prior to death. I have looked all over the internet and seem to get more confused as I try to piece this together. Can anyone tell me what I should be considering when researching policies?
